Tahiti Pensions , French Polynesia: About them

Diving worldFakarava
Fakarava (Havaiki Nui), in the Tuamotu Archipelago, has been classified as a nature reserve by UNESCO as the rich ecosystem contains exceptionally rare fauna and flora both above and below the water. The 2 passes at either end of the atoll are the main dive sites and are teeming with life, Manta Rays, sharks, barracuda, groupers, loaches, turtles, dolphins and surgeon fish are all plentiful. The waters here are amongst the most pristine and untouched waters of French Polynesia.

Tikehau
Tikehau comprises a series of hundreds of flat islets surrounding a lagoon; it is one of the most stunning islets of French Polynesia, famed for stretching white sands and azure waters. Exquisite dive sites are within the lagoon or at the Tuheiava Pass at the southernmost tip, the pass is renowned for exhilarating drift dives with many pelagics. The lagoon life itself is plentiful and vibrant and was proclaimed by the Jacques Cousteau Society as having the most concentrated population of fish species.

Fakarava Accommodation , French Polynesia

maitaiHOTEL MAITAI DREAM
The Maitai Dream Fakarava is the second Maitai Hotel to be built in French Polynesia after the initial Maitai Hotel in Bora Bora. It has only been open since September 2002 and is a charming hotel in an unspoilt environment on the second largest atoll of the Tuamotu Archipelago.

There are 30 luxury bungalows, against a luxuriant plantation of Tiare flowers and fruit trees, that all benefit from beautiful lagoon views. The bungalows feature a private terrace, ceiling fan, and all the modern conveniences including telephone and television. The hotel's lagoon front bar and restaurant provide spectacular sunset views and superb intercontinental cuisine.

The dive operation at the Maitai Dream Hotel will cater for all your diving requirements and show you the magnificent reefs that are abundant both in and around the lagoon of Fakarava. Both water activities and land excursions can be organised throughout your stay to ensure you receive the ideal holiday.

tikehauTIKEHAU PEARL BEACH RESORT
Pearl Beach Resort opened in May 2001 and is set on a 4 hectare private island on the edge of the Tikehau atoll. Just a few hundred yards to the south the reef tips into the abyssal depths of the South Pacific, and to the north and west the shallow waters of Tikehau lagoon lap the golden beaches that encircle the island.

There are 30 spacious bungalows all with en-suite bathroom, sundeck and modern conveniences. 14 are set amongst the palm trees on the beach offering sunset views of the lagoon, and 16 are overwater bungalows built on stilts above the reef flats.

The Poe Rava restaurant with terrace and Miki Miki bar are set around the main hotel complex, alongside the freshwater swimming pool and boutique. The tour desk can arrange fishing trips, boat rental and island tours around your timetable. The in-house dive operation Tikehau Blue Nui Dive Club offers up to 3 dives per day on the reefs, drop-offs and passes.
